Customs & Trade
Accelerating economic interdependence and intense global competition have emerged as the key policy drivers in the world economy today. Commitment to domestic industrial growth, terms of free trade policies and increasing threats of physical security has led to complex legislations across the globe.
As border control agencies, customs departments worldwide administer many laws at economic frontiers of countries. Indian customs, inter alia, administers acts pertaining to copyrights, patents, atomic energy, essential commodities, drugs and cosmetics, standard weights and measures etc. Thus compliance requirements are numerous.
We at BMR Managed Services (BMS) know that customs compliance begins right from the analysis of purchase orders for imports and extends up to meeting export obligations against import licenses and other DGFT related compliances.

This repository of rules is continually updated by professionals with vast experience in the areas of global trade compliances and logistics.

We assign a team that is completely conversant with nuances of customs and ensure that service level definitions are strictly adhered to.
We also undertake compliance review exercises where we review existing frameworks of our clients and ascertain the level of compliances of their processes and IT systems. Post these exercises we perform periodic checks of client processes particularly before return filing dates.
The Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) has initiated promotion of voluntary customs compliance under the Accredited Client Programme (ACP). Highly compliant organizations deemed eligible under the ACP witness reduced clearance times and lower transaction costs.

The key objectives of our customs offering are to ensure that our clients:
• Get accredited as compliant organizations
• Adhere to compliance requirements on a sustained basis
• Generate cost savings from effective export incentive management
• Derive greater advantage from shorter clearance cycles and hassle-free customs processes by virtue of comprehensive and error free documentation
We ensure a smooth transition from the client’s own environment to a managed services one. In doing so we perform a detailed transition exercise and train client personnel on the new IT enabled environment where they would be managers of the processes that they had been executing in their organizations.
