He has extensive experience advising multinational and domestic companies across a range of industries in the areas of VAT impact assessment and transition planning, Service Tax issues, structuring of manufacturing and national distribution models and in advising and planning for indirect tax issues associated with complex construction and engineering contracts. He has led multi-disciplinary teams on projects to assist various state Governments in defining and implementing a framework for the implementation of VAT in those states. His particular area of focus is structuring cross border transactions for goods and services covering a range of indirect tax issues.
He has a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from Delhi University and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1988. He joined Arthur Andersen in 1991 and made partner in 1999. He has been associated with various committees of trade associations, providing inputs on legislative and policy issues pertaining to the entire gamut of indirect taxes in the country.
